Born into a military family, Terry grew up around the world. Georgia has been her home now for more than three decades and where she raised her four children.
Terry has a wide range of legal experience in the area of government operations and litigation defense. As a former Assistant Attorney General, she represented public safety agencies including the State Patrol, superior court judges, district attorneys, the GBI, and the Department of Corrections. Having also worked as in-house counsel for state departments, Ms. Long is familiar with both labor management and business contract matters. She is an experienced constitutional lawyer and her agency representation focused heavily on civil rights, employment, and tort litigation defense. She also served eight years as an assistant counsel in the Office of Legislative Counsel for the Georgia General Assembly, developing a strong background in state and local government law. More recently, Ms. Long has provided counsel for several local governments while also acting as defense counsel in a variety of state as well as private actions. Her current practice focuses on representing local governments and businesses, and commercial litigation.
Ms. Long is admitted to practice in all Georgia state and federal courts as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court.
Terry graduated in the top 20% of her class at Georgia State University, College of Law. In law school, she served as a senior editor for the Law Review and Vice President of the Moot Court Society.
